HEXBUG began in 2007 with the Original HEXBUG (robotic creature that reacts to sound and touch). From there HEXBUG would continue to grow and expand using creative ideas and designs. New robotic creatures were being added to the already fascinating robotic bug line. Additions included Crabs, Inch Worms, Nanos, Customizable Habitats, and much more.
NOW….
Just in time for Halloween, comes a fun glow in the dark toy from the popular HEXBUG collection, HEXBUG Limited Edition HEXBUG Nano Halloween Bugs.
To celebrate the excitement and help others get ready for Halloween, I was given the chance to give OVER 24 kids an exciting HEXBUG party experience.
I have 2 younger kids that are the PERFECT HEXBUG ages. So how do I have a party for just one of them when they BOTH LOVE HEXBUG? Easy I split up the parties and had 2.
My HEXBUG Nano Halloween Zombie Party Kit contained:

- 12 Limited Edition HEXBUG Nano Zombie bugs. Nano Halloween Zombie Bugs come in coffin shaped packaging (black and orange) and have a glow in the dark exoskeleton.
- 15 Glow in the dark HEXBUG Nano Galileo Collection Bugs
- 2 Glow in the dark HEXBUG Nano Habitat Sets. Each set allows you to build/create a customized playground for your HEXBUGS. There are 10 easy to con
- nect pieces, and 2 rare glow in the dark HEXBUG Nano Mutations.
- 1 Glow in the dark HEXBUG Nano Elevation Habitat Set. This set includes a multilevel spiral ramp that rises two levels, connector pieces, and 2 rare HEXBUG Nanos.
- Additional Batteries (16 two packs)
My first party I hosted was for my son and his friends (ages 3-4). I made spiders (spider brownies), larvae eggs (grapes), rotten fish (goldfish crackers), bug nests (cinnamon crumble muffins, and zombie pies ( mini homemade pizza bites).

This totally set the stage for our upcoming party. I set up all the habitats (easy and fast to connect more than one habitat together). The kids were beyond excited. I couldn’t open the Nano’s from the tubes fast enough. The moms and I wrote each kid’s name on their Nano and then it was play time. The kids had a BLAST!!They were so tickled to see how the Glow in the dark Nano HEXBUGS moved all around. The highlight for the kids was seeing their Nanos go up the spiral ramp and onto the second level. We turned off the lights a few times so the kids could see how the Habitat and Nano light up in the dark. The hard part was telling the kids it was time for the party to be over and go home.

The second party was with my daughter’s friends (ages 6-7). We set up the Habitats in a different arrangement and introduced all the girls to the Limited Edition Zombie Bugs. The black and orange coffin containers set the perfect Halloween feeling and mood, while the white glow in the dark exoskeleton on the Limited Edition Zombie Nanos made the bugs fun and exciting especially as they buzzed around in the dark.
We introduced the HEXBUG Larva and WOW are they awesome. Each Larva bug moves around almost like they are real. They are big, fast, fun, entertaining, and can be used on the floor, which makes them easy and perfect for taking with you for on the go kid entertainment.
I noticed that both age groups were highly entertained and engaged. Each group LOVED the HEXBUG Nanos and Habitats. The fact that they all glowed in the dark was such a HUGE bonus.
Common response I got from parents were “Where did you get those?”, Where can I purchase HEXBUGS?”, “What a great gift idea?”, ” OH MY GOSH I have to get them. I have have never seen my son so entertained and sit for so long playing with something”, and “What a great toy. My kids LOVE them”.
Needless to say each party the HEXBUG Limited Edition Zombies, Nano Galileo Collection, and Habitats were a HUGE HIT. I even had one friend/mom go and purchase a Habitat set after my party and show it to me. She was so exited to give one to a friend as a gift.
