On September 13, Barbie learn the importance of proper princess manner in her NEW DVD movie “Barbie Princess Charm School“.
Thanks to Barbie, One2One Network, Elise McVeigh (founder of Mrs. MeVeigh’s Manners and Parents magazine’s etiquette expert) I was able to help a group of girls get excited/ready for Barbie’s new DVD release by hosting a Barbie Princess Charm School Party.
My first thought when getting the chance to host this party “What a great girl scout meeting par
ty”. That is exactly what I did, invited Yaya’s girl scout troop to a fun. The girls were in AWWW when they saw our princess party table all set up and ready to learn what Barbie wanted to teach them.
I set up the table with the provided place mats. Each place mat was ready to help assist our little Barbie Princesses in training on how to set the table properly. In the center of the table I had all the cutlery, napkins, plates all ready to set the place setting, and a vase with pretty Fall flowers. There were princess crowns at the top of each place setting so that each girl could start off the royal Charm School experience with a dazzling princess feeling.
As the girls each sat down in their place, put on their tiara, and was excited to see what I was going to teach them first. I explained we were going to learn how to properly set the table, so that we would not only know how to set the table, but which utensil they need to use for which food items.
It was so much fun to watch the girls set their place setting and how proud they looked at their completed setting. We then had snack time, where some of the moms and I walked around and served the little royal princesses as they practiced their manners, which included saying please, thank you, and no thank you.

After snack time, we talked about the importance of writing a thank you note after receiving gifts. All the girls had the chance to write a thank you note using Barbie Charm School note card stationary.
I then passed out a large manners check list to each of the girls. We talked about each item on the checklist and why they are important. I provided each girl with shiny star stickers so they could check off each item they practice with their parents.
At the end of the party each girl was able to fill out their names on their Barbie Princess Charm School Completion Certificate. Then some of the girls grabbed the Prince Barbies that were helping us with the party and acted out proper manners, friendship, and displayed respectful acts.
Each girl was then given a bag to place all their Barbie Princess Charm School items in along with a Manners tips for parents.
This was so much fun and really sent a great message to the girls on proper manners. Each girl had a great time and are excited to see the upcoming
Barbie Princess Charm School DVD featuring Barbie as Blaire Willows, available in stores September 13.
