This was my first BlogHer and it was a blast. I did learn SEVERAL things (that I was not prepared for) this BlogHer that I am taking with me next time.
Let me share with you some tips learned and will use for the next BlogHer.
Helpful tips to make BlogHer even more successful/fun.
1) Comfortable shoes. I mean REALLY comfy shoes. I wore some shoes that I thought were comfy and after a day of BlogHer11, my feel were bleeding (thank you Blogher first aid and CVS Minute Clinic for all the banaids). My Sanuk flipflops were an awesome save. I would recommend comfy Sanuk Shoes or slip-ons. Shoes with backs tend to rub on your ankles and gives sores. Closed toe shoes can sometimes cause blisters. Poor Stacie had HUGE blisters from her shoes. We went and got pedicures the day after BlogHer. They felt great. Thank you Stacie for sneakly footing my bill.
2) Foot Care. This can include bandaids, foot rub, or heat pack. Hopefully they have foot massagers next time. I think this would be a great investment and would be a huge hit. I know I would be in line.
3) Be organized and prepared. Make sure you plan which off site parties you are going to, print your tickets ahead of time, print maps. Anything to take the overwhelming feeling out of how much there is to do.
4) Being A LOT of business cards. I ran out and had to spend $38 at FedEx for plain, unprofessional, perforated business cards. LESSON LEARNED. Sad part is I drove to BlogHer each morning and was over-prepared, except the last day with my biz card mishap. Expensive mistake.
5) Make sticker with Your Name, Your Blog, Your Blog URL, Your email address. Then a sticker with the same only add your phone number and address. This saves A LOT OF TIME AND IS A HUGE HELP. I mwish I thought of this earlier. (Thank you Jen (Makobi Scribe)
6) Bring camera. Capture all those BlogHer memories.
7) SMART PHONE!!! HUGE help. There are SO MANY contests (almost every booth) that you can enter if you tweet a message or picture of you at the booth. If you don’t have a smart phone, bring your iPad or other device with internet and ADD TWITTER APP!!!!.
Bring extra bag or suitcase. It is expensive to ship and you will need A LOT of extra space for swag.
9) Stay in the hotel where the conference is at. SavesĀ so much time and money being so close. You can drop off swag, grab stuff you forgot, and change clothes. Also makes it more possible to go to all the BlogHer events in the hotel where the conference is located.
10) Take a cab over a pedicab. WOW pedicabs are expensive.
11) BRING A PURSE THAT ZIPS and keep it with you at all times. There were several wallets stolen at BlogHer.
12) Get the phone numbers of your blog buddies. SO great to keep in touch and meet up for the conferences and expo events.
13) Share a room with friends. Saves money and makes it more affordable.
14) Get your ticket before February 28th and save $100.
15) Deodorant or smelly lotion (light aroma). I kept this in my bag with me at all times. You are running around all day and don’t want to meet PR or Companies when you are not at your freshest.
16) Have a blog bud/s. I stayed and did everything with Stacie. We had a blast. It was great to have someone to take pictures with, go to the parties with, experience each booth, step out of my comfort zone when it came to making a video or taking a picture, and made the whole experience even more fun. We met up with Jennifer, Yolanda, Anna, and Jamie, which was a blast too!!!
17) Hand sanitizer and the breath mints!!! (Great idea Stacie, especially since we used these all the time)
Are there any tips you have?

Don’t forget the hand sanitizer and the breath mints!!!
GOOD ones. I totally forgot.
Funny because that is what we used all the time. LOL My whole hand sanitizer is gone.
AH! I am so excited. I signed up for 2012!!! Posts like this make me glad that I did. Thank you for the great tips!
