Summer came and went so fast this year. When I look back to see what we did and why it went so fast, I realize that my family did so many fun activities and adventures together it made time seem to fly.

I decided to write a list of the things we did as a family this summer not only to re-live it, but to share with you some ideas of things you can do with your family and activities to do on a *budget.

Activities we did this summer as a family:

Road trip to San Fransisco. This was fun especially since we have never been on a family vacation before or a road trip.

*Ferry Ride: Took a ferry ride across San Francisco Bay. This was a fun and exciting thing to do with the kids,  which was fast and also inexpensive.

Russian River: I love nature and have to admit the view was breath taking. The kids got to ride in a canoe ($15 for all day), play on tree swing, and swim in the river.

Cosmic Bowling: This is late night bowling with loud music and florescent lights. You can purchase a package and save money. They put up bumpers, offer lighter kids size bowling balls, and have a rolling rack to assist younger kids in bowling. Fun for the whole family.

*Jelly Belly Factory Tour: FREE, yummy, and educational, and FUN.

*Beach Trips: These are FREE and SO much fun for the kids. Pack lunches and sunscreen and you are set for a day of fun.

*Bike Rides: We taught kids to ride their bikes. This is fun to ride around together.

*Games: Whether it be board games or video games with 4 controllers, the kids had a blast and loved playing as a family.

Sea World: We got discounted day passes, which allowed us to come back for the rest of the year free.

San Diego Wild Animal Park: Passes are not expensive and allow you to go to Wild Animal Park or Zoo (free parking).

Legoland: I wond free tickets at BlogHer’11 from SDMomfia.

Park: Our kids LOVE the park. This is free and so much fun for them. Bring sunscreen and be prepared to stay for a while.

Frozen Yogurt.: We did this a lot because it is close, WAY cheaper than ice cream, it was hot out, and my kids love ice cream (they think frozen yogurt is ice cream). Not to mention all the yummy toppings you get. Price is by the weight.

Chuck E. Cheese: Chuck E. Cheese let us try out their new pizza recipe and play. Kids LOVED it.

SUBWAY: I have to admit we ate at Subway at least 2-4 times a week. There were a few locations we tried that had pizza, which Yaya loved. Something there for the whole family.

Train Ride
