The new 2011 school year is sneaking up on us quickly. With so much to do and so much to get to be prepared we often forget about the little things we can do to make the new school year easier.
Here area few tips for students and parents for surviving the new school year with ease.
Parents:
- Make sure your child has a small travel sanitizer in their lunch pail or backpack. Encourage kids to wash their hands before eating lunch and use their sanitizer at all chances. This has helped us to reduce sicknesses throughout our house, which keeps my kids in school and the whole family happy.
- Have your child’s name on EVERYTHING. I love Label Daddy Labels. This helps reduce tears, frustration, and sometimes money when your child loses one of their possessions.
- Make sure your child has their supplies the first week of school. This includes backpack, lunch pail, and whatever else the teacher asks.
- Be on time, especially the first day.
- Help kids stay organized.
Students (College):
- Check when your classes are and double check. Then prepare for finding parking and walking to class.
- Prepare. Have your supplies and get to class early your first week. Sometimes classes are full and others try to add at the last minute. Oh my. It isn’t fun standing and trying to find a seat after class starts.
- Be organized
- Bring a water bottle, paper, and pen/pencil.
- Map out your classes.
