Give Dads the Gift of Infotainment

It isn’t too late to give Dad something he will enjoy this Father’s Day. How about give him a gift that is entertaining, educates and is affordable . Whether your dad is a comic book enthusiast, a busy professional, or someone who enjoys easy reading books with powerful messages, he will enjoy these two fun and easy to read books.

Shut Up, Stop Whining & Get a Life by Larry Winget

Based on the number one Wall Street Journal Bestseller, this self-help comic book challenges every idea you hold sacred, it emphasizes the importance of a positive attitude, the sanctity of marriage,  religion, fitness, friendship, money, stress, and happiness.

My thoughts:

When I found that this was written in comic book form, I was no sure what I was going to think. THEN after reading it, I found myself really liking the way it is written. The whole book is written in cliff note form, leaving out all the in between unimportant paragraphs sometimes found in other self help books and leaves readers with the most powerful messages.

Each passage provides an inspirational positive message along with a comic like illustration. Author Larry Winget tells it like it is and really make you think “WOW that is so true”. For example when he says “Remember what you say about others says more about you thank it does about them”. I think this is so true. Then there are times when I think “Oh my goodness my son is so busy and hard to handle at times”. Larry says “Your kids are a direct reflection of what you have taught them. And just like you have always heard, your actions speak louder than words”. There are so many great messages throughout this whole book that are not only true, but make you think, reevaluate yourself, be more positive, and make your life the life you want. Whining won’t help us get happy, we have to do it ourselves. We have the tools to do it, now we have to act on it or things won’t get better.

This is a great book that I would recommend to others and I am glad I had the chance to read it. My book is all tabbed up, so I can go back and enjoy the messages I think I really need to work on.

Overachievement by Dr. John Eliot

Product Details Mixing scientific insights with entertaining and inspiring stories, Overachievement

will help you attain success on the job, on the playing field, or in any situation that demands you rise above and beyond what you ever thought possible.

My thoughts:

This is a book that gives you positive information to help you acquire skills that will assist you in becoming exceptional in all your endeavors. This book is also written in cliff note form, leaving only the powerful and information messages.

Author John Eliot provides readers with key points/thoughts needed to help build confidence, skills, balance, insight, confidence, and goals. The book is divided into sections a few that I really liked include “Thriving Under Pressure, Dreams Vs Goals, and Playing in the Present”.

Both books are great. I love the way they are written in a fun, cut to the chance type of writing. Leaving out the extra filler paragraphs and leaving us with what we really want out of a book. These are great types of reading for those who enjoy getting all they can from powerful books and don’t have a lot of time to read.

Each book is priced at $12.95 – $14.95, and available at Amazon.com, in select book and comic stores nationwide, and at Hudson News stores.
