My husband introduced me to county music many years ago. It wasn’t hard for him to get me to be a country music lover.

I am not sure what I was more excited about, having the chance to read and another Chicken Soup for the Soul book OR that it was a Chicken Soup for the Soul book that included inspirational stories behind so many great country songs.

Chicken Soup for the Soul Country Music shares 101 personal stories behind many of our favorite and popular country music hits told by performers and the songwriters.

Each country song story provides the lyrics to each song, who wrote the song, who recorded the song, and a brief story on the inspiration behind it.

A great story and song is “Walk On Faith“. Not only is the lyrics to this song inspirational, but so is the story shared by song writer Mike Reid. What a great song with a powerful message to dig for inner strength in tough times.

Then there is one of my favorite songs. Every time I hear it, I get goosebumps. “I Hope You Dance“. It was wonderful to read how Tia Sillers came up with the lyrics, feelings behind the words, inspiration for creating the song, and how she was encouraged to travel and put together her song that Lee Anne Womack would sing.

I could go on and on how great each individual song is and how this book brings a deeper feeling and sense of connection to the highlighted songs.

What a great book for country music lovers, writers, poetry lovers, and more.
