Five Summer Getaways Every Kid Should Experience

Summer is such a great time of the year. For my family it is a great excuse to take a family vacation, get out in the sun, relax, and enjoy family time while the kids are out of school & sports.
Here are five summer getaways I think would be great if every kid could experience, they should.
1. Summer at the beach. This is a fun family activity. There are several things to do at the beach, whether you kids like to boogie board, surf (kids can take surf lessons), looking for sea shells, talk and learn about sea life, build sandcastles, play in the ocean, play beach games, free & fun activity to do as a family, and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.
2. Hawaii or other Tropical destination. This is something we can not wait to do with our kids. Travel to a tropical location so our kids can experience clear ocean water, canoeing, snorkeling, para-sailing, different cultures, and find unique different sea life.
3. Historical Location: This is something my family did a lot when we were younger. We took family vacations to historical regions of the US. It was so educational and exciting. I really liked going through junior high, high school, and college having a visual and better appreciation for several of the historical events that took place.
4. Kid friendly place. I think every kids should experience Disney World, Disneyland, a Disney Cruise, Legoland, or other large attraction park. I know these cost a lot of money and we have not done each item I listed, but I would love to give my kids a summer experience that involved one of these family/kid friendly attractions. I love seeing how excited and how much fun kids have at places that are geared just for kids.
5. Visit Family. I think summer is a great chance to visit family, no matter how far they live. Give your kids a chance to enjoy summer by playing with cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Family is so special and with busy work for parents and kids in school, we don’t always have a lot of time to spend with extended family. Summer is a great time to getaway with the kids and share the fun with relatives.
No matter how you celebrate and enjoy the summer with your kids, cherish it. Time seems to fly by and our kids seem to get bigger and bigger. I am looking forward to this summer taking my kids on a road trip to see historical landmarks and several trips to the beach.

Hi – I am asking for fellow bloggers to visit my site in hopes that we can find a match for a young girl that desperately needs a bone marrow transplant. Would be great if you could visit today too. Thank you. Kelly

We love St. Augustine, Florida. You can get both 1 & 3 there! It is The oldest city in the US. Disney is just a short drive. The beaches are beautiful, the town is so quaint. It is rarely crowded
