A Woman Who Helped Me

 A Woman Who Helped Me

When thinking of a woman who has helped me, inspired me, gave me so much emotionally and physically, there is only one person who instantly
infuses my mind and heart all at once.
?My Mom.
From my very first memories, she has done everything she could to be there for me and help me. And when I decided to go to school to get my teaching degree while go to work to help support my family, it was her that was like the third parent to my daughter. Helping me make sure my daughter had the very best childhood ever, even when her (my daughter) parents were busy trying to further their education.
She has helped me become the loving compassionate person I am and doesn’t hesitate to drive 2 hours to come and help me with my kids when one is hospitalized, I am having another one, or when I just want a date night with my hubby.
Helping me doesn’t cover what this special lady has done for me and continues to do for me each day.
I feel lucky and so blessed to call her mom.

ABOUT THE HEART OF HAITI PROJECT
The Heart of Haiti Project is an initiative founded by Willa Shalit (daughter of Gene Shalit) and her company, Fairwinds Trading, a for-profit company that uses business as a strategy for economic empowerment of people, especially women, in the Majority World. The Majority World is where two billion of the world’s three billion people live, in poverty.

Through a partnership with Macy’s and their Shop For A Better World‘ initiative, Heart of Haiti offers artisan-crafted decorative arts and jewelry for sale. All income derived from sales of the products on the Heart of Haiti site enhances an artisan’s family’s nutrition, educates children, and brings access to healthcare and dignity.
