My Favorite Things About Easter

Each year I look forward to Easter, as I do most holidays. Something about the magic of the Easter Bunny, our Easter day celebration tradition, and most of all spending the day with my family that just gets me so excited for it each year. Oh that and the YUMMY candy. :)
Our special Easter traditions that I look froward to and love include:
  • I get the chance to help my kiddos pick out a special Easter outfit that they get to wear on Easter . They look forward to this each year. We go to the store and pick out a dress for my girls and a nice outfit for my son that they don’t usually wear as everyday wear.
  • When our kiddos wake up Easter morning, the Easter Bunny leaves a trail of Easter Eggs that lead them to their Easter Basket full of yummy prizes and treats. This starts off our morning with a HUGE smile and leaves my kids eager to go Easter Egg hunting.
  • We have a good breakfast before we start off running around finding all the Easter eggs and so their tummies don’t hurt after having all the treats.
  • I love the Easter Egg Hunt. This goes on for hours at our house. The Easter Bunny LOVES to hide eggs all over our back yard and front yard. The kids run and find the eggs until their baskets are overflowing. Then when the kids are done finding eggs they beg us to hide them again, because it was so much fun the first time. We video tape and really enjoy watching how excited the kids get. Although our oldest is almost 14, she loves to help us hide the eggs and help the small kids find the eggs. Not to mention she gets a new outfit out of it and a basket full of her favorite treats and knickknack.
  • As if all that wasn’t fun enough, round 2 we get to do with some of the neighbors and their kids that our the same age as ours. This Easter Egg hunt includes Easter Eggs full of healthy snacks or toys. This way the kids are still having the best time and we don’t have to worry about the excessive candy.
I loved being a kids and celebrating Easter. Watching how excited my small kids get and knowing they really know the meaning behind Easter, really makes me feel good.
Coming April 1st the movie HOP. I had the chance to watch it early and my kids and I loved it. What a way to get your kids excited about Easter.
About Hop:
Blending state of the art animation with live action, Hop is a comedy about E.B. (voiced by Russell Brand), the teenage son of the Easter Bunny. On the eve of taking over the family business, E.B. leaves for Hollywood in pursuit of his dream of becoming a drummer.  Once there, he encounters Fred (James Marsden of the X-Men series, Enchanted), recently fired and determined to pull his life together.  Feigning injury, E.B. persuades Fred to take him in, and Fred finds himself living with the world’s worst houseguest.   Back on Easter Island, the Easter Bunny’s second in command, an oversized chick named Carlos, seizes E.B.’s disappearance as an opportunity to plot a coup.  Ultimately, Fred and E.B. are Easter’s only hope and they find themselves returning to Easter Island, locked in an epic battle to save the beloved holiday.  The film is helmed by Tim Hill, director of the blockbuster Alvin and the Chipmunks and produced by Chris Meledandri’s Illumination Entertainment (Despicable Me).
