Friday Blog Feature ~ The Mommy Matters

Friday Features give us a great opportunity to meet new people and fabulous blogs.

My blog is called “The Mommy Matters.” Right after having my son I discovered how hard it is to find time to be a mom, a wife and still be an individual. My title insinuates both the fact that mommy’s do matter in the grand retrospect of things; as well as the everyday matters and tasks of being a mom.

3 Years in August

I write about everything from photography and crafts to marriage and parenting. I opted out of niche blogging because it is so constricting and chose, instead, to focus on all areas of life that matter to me the most. I write about REAL life–the highs and the lows, the good and the bad. Motherhood and Marriage are wonderful, but they aren’t always easy and they most certainly aren’t always flowers and rainbows.

I’m passionate about blogging, photography and graphic design. At some point, in the near future, I hope to establish myself as a successful WordPress Blog Designer. It’s a struggle to find time to get back in school, but I will do it. I will finish. I’m a little headstrong and overly determined. I rarely back down from something I want to do.

I love the connections with other moms that are made through blogging. I know that when I’m dealing with something, I can get online and search through my favorite archives to find someone else who has experienced the same thing. And the friendships are unparalleled. Some of my best friends I have never even met in real life.

Stay true to YOU. It’s easy to fall into the traps of trying to be who your readers think you need to be. Find your voice, your edge, what makes you unique and go with it. If you write quality content, then the readership will follow.

Honestly, my goals are to just continue to grow my readership. I adore the interaction and the friendships. Should I reach the point of making a little extra cash to support my “habit” and contribute to my family, then great. But it’s all about the writing. I’ve been writing since I could hold a pencil and never plan to stop.
