Heelys takes shoes to a whole new level with their unique style of shoes.
Heelys are stylish shoes for kids (and adults) that have rollers on the bottom of the shoes. The rollers are positioned at the bottom heel and can be removed so the shoes can be worn as regular shoes or as roller shoes. Heelys come in a variety of styles for boys, girls, men, and woman.
Most people who are familiar with Heelys, know Heely’s for their roller shoes that have one wheel on each shoe heel.
NOW Heelys offers an HX2, which offers two wheels on the heels instead of one. This provides extra stability and balance. These are great for those who are new to Heelys. Heelys HX2 owners have the luxury of 2 wheels and then once they get the hang of rolling around on two wheels, they can take one wheel out and use only one wheel (like the original Heelys).
My husband and oldest daughter have a pair of original Heelys, so I was excited that my youngest daughter and I were going to have the chance to fall in love with Heelys too. Now Alyssa and I can learn how to ride our Heelys together.
Heelys HX2 features I like:
- Variety of styles (colors, styles, & sizes)
- Wheels are removable: This is great for wearing to school, where kids may not be able to use the rollers. Removable wheels also offer Heelys wears the option of one or two wheels. Heelys comes with a great tool that helps easily remove the wheels and the plastic stopper (the black piece that blocks the hole where the wheels go).
- Great beginning model: The two wheels give more stability making them even easier to learn how to use and become a more confident rider.
I will admit Yaya and I did look silly the first few times we tried our Heelys. I think it was a bit easier for me since my feet are so long, which made it easy to lean forward and prevent myself from falling. Yaya loved her shinny blue Heelys. They are pretty design, easy to put on & take off, and such an exciting way to get around. Yaya is still trying to get her balance and figure out how to do it all on her own, without my help. Each time we go outside and practice, we have so much fun. Hayli did come out and take my shoe from me to try it. Definitely made me look bad how fast she got the hang of it.
Overall this has been such a fun experience. I like that not only can my kids add excitement into their walking and daily activities, but it is also something I can do too with them too. The new HX2′s make it even easier for kid’s Yayas age (5) and big kids my age to enjoy.
