Play Dough Tutorial
Materials:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup of water
1 tsp cooking oil
Food coloring
(or like us cinnamon and glitter)
(We doubled materials to make more)
- In a heavy sauce pan, mix flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Pour the water and oil into the dry mixture and stir well.
- Cook over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the dough pulls away from the pan. Remove from heat.
- Let cook in a bowl covered with a wet cloth for a minute. (I didn’t do this.) I put the hot play dough on my counter and played with it until it cooled.
- Add food coloring to get your desired color. I used cinnamon to get a brown color and a REALLY nice smelling play dough. We also added glitter (blue).
