Homemade Slime

I saw this recipe in a Parenting Magazine (I can’t take the credit) and thought it sounded like fun. When I saw how easy the recipe and instructions were, I knew my kiddos would love this one.

Materials Needed:
2 cups of white glue (Elmer’s or other)
2 cups of water
Liquid food coloring
1tsp of borax
(borax is a multipurpose powdered laundry detergent and is SO nice to have when getting rid of ants)

Instructions:
  1. 1.Pour glue into a mixing bowl. (I used 4 of the small $.67 bottles of glue) Slowly add 1 1/2 cups of water and several drops of food coloring.
  2. In another bowl, dissolve borax in 1/2 cup of water.
  3. Add dissolved borax to glue mixture. Knead for 10 minutes, until slime separates between your fingers. Let slime condense in an airtight container overnight before using. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Looks kinda gross when you are done kneading it, but after it sits it looks like this (below)
Oh my goodness this was SO easy, fast, and so much fun.
My girls loved pouring in all the glue and water (talk about easy).
They also thought it was so neat to see how it changed from water, glue and borax into slime.

Have fun!
